List Item Filter webpart v1.0, List selection

Dec 17, 2008 at 10:11 AM
Using MOSS 2007 Std, German
When i make a list selection in the filter list source most of the lists are not working. I'm geting an Error: "Error: No list found at url /website/sub-website/listname.." and no display and value filed is selectable. But I have in every Site a News-List (in German Ankündigungen). These lists are working as filter source but all other lists not :-(.

Thanks, Uwe

Uwe,

Thanks for the feedback. I created a new version that I am currently testing. If you want, you can download a testversion here:
http://www.tonstegeman.com/cbt/Deliverables/TST.WebParts_1.22_Build20081223.zip

In this version your problem should be fixed.

Using MOSS, Hebrew
I am trying to use checkbox mode. The filtering is made only by one last checked value and by all of them.
Build: TST.WebParts_1.21_Build20081126

Thanks

Hi rrediska,

What type of consumer web part are you using? The out of the box SharePoint list view web part does not handle the multiple filter values correctly (this is the same for the out of the box filter web parts, like Choice Filter).
The Content By Type web part handles these multiple filter values as an 'OR'. This web part is included in the same package. For Hebrew this only works in the latest version that I am currently testing. You can download it here:
http://www.tonstegeman.com/cbt/Deliverables/TST.WebParts_1.22_Build20081230.zip
I have tested this on a Hebrew site collection and it worked. It would be really nice if you could test this as well.
If the web parts are not available in de web part gallery after installing this version, you will need to activate the "Content By Type and List Item Filter" feature (site collection scope).

Thanks, Ton

Hi,
First I was trying to use List Filter with multiple values (checkboxes).
I also tried to install the last build you provide me with, but after an installation I was unable to open WP toolpane.

Thanks

Hi,

I meant to ask what web part you use to send the filter values to? This is the web part that has a connection to your List Filter web part.

Can you send me a screenshot of the error message (to e-mail ton(at)tonstegeman.com) you are getting?
And does the new version work if you add a new web part to the page? Or does this happen when you open the toolpane for an existing web part?

thanks, Ton

Hi rrediska,

I found the toolpane error you mentioned above. I updated the zip file. Could you please download it and try again?

screenshoots won't help you much, it's hebrew.
any case I'll try it once more and update you.
